What is person-centred counselling?

Being person-centred, I believe that everyone is unique and has their own perspective on life, based on their thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

You are the expert in your own life (even if it doesn’t always feel like it), so I’m not going to judge you, or give you advice or tell you what to do.

Instead, through empathy, openness and kindness, I will help support you to explore how your situation feels for you and, by building a relationship of trust and respect between us, together we can work towards finding the best way to move forward for you.

Person-centred counselling is based on the work of Carl Rogers (1902-1987).  You can find out more about his work and theories here*.
